The title of the performance is derived from the english expression no strings attached, which means: Doing something for someone without asking for anything in return.

A large space, supported by columns. During the performance, strings are woven between the columnes, horizontally, vertically, diagonally, in all possible directions. The strings also produce sound, gentle, pulsating, growling, thundering, amplified through attached contact microphones. Gradually the whole space becomes one extended instrument. The movements of building it simultaneously translate into its sound.

Annegret Heinl born in Bonn 1946. Engaged in visual arts since the 60s. First exhibition in 1989. Since the middle of the 90s cooperation with Jan Steklik in exhibitions, projects and activities, also with Karel Nepraš and Ben Patterson. Development of ideas and concepts, its realization in pictures, objects, environments, performances, and workshops. Usage and employment of new media and techniques in order to try possibilities of interactive interplay between a visual and auditive representation and to involve it into her work. International exhibitions and projects in Germany, England, France, Netherlands, Poland, Slovakia, Spain, Taiwan, Czech Republic, Tunisia, USA ...

hans w. koch (cologne), is active as composer, performer and soundartist. he considers art sculpting thoughts in different materials and personally favours conceptual approaches: more thought, less material. exploring (de)faults of soft- and hardware results in the use of computers as musical instruments in a rather physical manner. his works have been commissioned by and presented at numerous festivals and occasions both nationally and internationally. in 2008 his piece "the benchmark consort" won an award of distinction at the ars electronica festival in linz/austria. during spring semester 2007 he was teaching composition and experimental sound practices as visiting professor at the california institute of the arts, los angeles. since 2012 he teaches hybrid sound composition at the institute for music and media in duesseldorf. for the summer semester 2015 he is invited to teach as guest professor at the academy of media arts in cologne.

Interaktives Kunstprojekt der Aquarium Compagnie 2014

Die Digitalisierung der Welt bedeutet einen grundlegenden Wandel der bisherigen Bedeutung, die dem Original im Unterschied zur Kopie zukam. Zur digitalen Erforschung dieser Frage startete Aquarium Compagnie das Projekt 7/49 Data Files in Form eines Spiels. Von Januar bis Juli 2014 ließen sieben Künstler ihre Bilder nach einem festgelegten Schema via Internet rotieren und von den anderen Teilnehmern bearbeiten und verändern. Dabei waren ausschließlich digitale Verfahrensweisen erlaubt. So entstanden aus sieben Originalen und deren sukzessiven Veränderungen durch die jeweiligen Interventionen 7 Bildfolgen aus jeweils 7 Bildern, das heißt insgesamt 49 Einzelbilder.

Interactive art project of Aquarium Compagnie 2014

The digitalization of the world induces a fundamental change in the meaning so far acquired the difference between original and copy. Digitally exploring this question Aquarium Compagnie has started the project 7/49 Data Files in form of a game. From January to July 2014 seven artists let rotate their images according to a defined procedure via internet and let work on them and change them by the other participants. Only digital methods has been allowed. So 7 sequences of 7 images, that are 49 images all in all were made of seven originals and their successive changing by current interventions.

Projet artistique interactif d’Aquarium Compagnie 2014

La numérisation du monde induit un changement fondamental dans la signification jusque-là acquise d’une différence entre original et copie. Pour explorer numériquement cette question, Aquarium Compagnie a initié le projet Data Files 7/49 sous la forme d’un jeu. De janvier à juillet 2014, selon un protocole bien défini au départ, sept artistes européens ont fait tourner leurs images par internet, en transformant et laissant retravailler chacun les images reçues. Seuls les procédés numériques ont été acceptés. En résultent 7 séquences de 7, soit 49 images, dérivées des sept originaux, chaque copie transformée devenant original à son tour.

In the context of Czech art cubism represents an exceptional artistic movement which had a significant effect on the language of our inter-war modern culture, design and architecture. The exhibition is a reaction to the extensive ongoing retrospective of the Brno painter Jaroslav Král being shown on the first floor of the House of Arts. Using contemporary artists, it attempts to show that the idea of cubism is still alive and inspirational.

Sekundärformen 4

Im diesem Jahr bereiteten wir bereits den vierten Jahrgang der Ausstellung vor, die der Interpretation der Partituren eines des ausgeprägtesten Komponisten des 20. Jahrhunderts, Leoš Janáček, durch tschechische sowie ausländische bildende Künstler gewidmet ist. Der Grundgedanke ist die Verknüpfung Janáčeks Werks mit der Welt der Bildner und der kunstliebenden Öffentlichkeit und die Erörterung der Frage der gegenseitigen Kommunikation zwischen Musik und Bild, dem musikalischen und bildenden Ausdruck. Praktisch wurde die Konzeption so geschaffen, dass jeder der teilnehmenden Künstler die Notation eines Tonstücks Janáčeks erhielt, je nach seiner Wahl in Druckform oder als Faksimile des Autographs. Die Künstler konnten also auf die graphische Form des Werks, die Textkomponente oder den in der Notation chiffrierten musikalischen Inhalt reagieren.

Der diesjährige Jahrgang respektiert wieder den Grundsatz der Wahl der Künstler, so dass das Ergebnis womöglich breite und mannigfaltige Herangehen an das gegebene Thema einbezieht: Karel Adamus, Peter Graham, Annegret Heinl, Dalibor Chatrný, Pavel Korbička, Ivan Kříž, Aleš Lamr, Jan Steklík, Lenka Sýkorová, Miloš Šejn, Jiří Šigut und Miroslav Šnajdr.

Die mit einem Katalog begleitete Ausstellung ist Bestandteil des internationalen Festivals Janáček Brno 2014.

Second Forms

This year we have organized, already for the fourth time, an exhibition on the interpretation of sheets of music of one of the most noticeable composers of the 20th century, Leoš Janáček, through Czech and foreign plastic artists. The main idea is the connection of Janáček´s work with the world of plastic artists and the art loving public and the question of the possibility of mutual communication between music and picture, between the musical and plastic expression. The concept of the exhibition was the following: each of the participating artists received a notation of one of Janáček´s compositions, either in printed form or as a facsimile of the composer´s autograph, according to the artist´s choice. The artists could thus react to the graphic form of the work, the text component or the music content encoded in the notation.

This year´s exhibition respects again the principle of the choice of the artists so that the final result includes as various approaches to the given task as possible: Karel Adamus, Peter Graham, Annegret Heinl, Dalibor Chatrný, Pavel Korbička, Ivan Kříž, Aleš Lamr, Jan Steklík, Lenka Sýkorová, Miloš Šejn, Jiří Šigut and Miroslav Šnajdr.

The exhibition accompanied by a catalogue is part of the international festival Janáček Brno 2014.
